Default Vacuum Packer ?? Which One

Hello Everyone,

Anybody have any input on which vacuum sealer is the best bang for the buck. I've never used one but am thinking of purchasing one. Big price difference in models. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The FoodSaver works very well. I got one at Wally-World for about $129...with some bags. It's great.

I've got the kenmore seal and save from sears. They were both at the store whaen I bought it and they seemed identicle except the kenmore was 20$ less, so I went with the name and the savings. I have no complaints going on 3 years.

we have a foodsaver, but we stopped using it, it just stopped working right. It would seal, and then we would realize it didnt suck all the air out. so we would have to recut the bag and try it again. It became more of a pain than it was worth.

My Food saver for $200 crapped out after 5 years or so. So I bought a Black and Decker for $50. Died in 3 months but Wally World took it back and gave me a new one.. It is a lot slower than the Foodsaver, but it does work.

I use a Food Saver as well. Care must be taken to keep the sealing area clear of moisture and food scraps to avoid damaging the unit.

Sounds like you may have been sealing to soon. Also I double seal my bags, then if the seal fails I know it was the factory side if I am using precuts. And as someone mentioned you can't seal the bag if you sucked moisture over the area being sealed.

I have a food saver too and love it. I have the middle model and feel it meets my needs.

My wife gets the bags on sale a Kohlms after Christmas. They get expensive if you pay retail for them . BTW you wash them out and reuse them too.
