Default What is the best method for cooking rabbits?

Rabbits have started getting a little over populated around my farm so I think i'm going to start hunting them for a while, and i heard they taste just like chicken so i might as well eat them! What is the best way of preparing them???

I cook rabbits & squirrels the same most of the time. It's simple, but good .

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Roll each piece in melted butter & flour.

Heat up some olive oil & fresh diced garlic (med-low heat) in a skillet and then brown the meat on both sides.(I like to use a old cast iron skillet that belonged to my grandmother, don't know why, but I was taught to always cook squirrels, rabbits, & fried potatoes in a cast iron )

Place pieces in a covered baking dish (I like to add the drippings too, for flavor) and bake for 30-35 minutes.

Don't forget the fried potatoes...

Enjoy.

try baking it in the oven with shake-n-bake. don't over cook it though.
or, wrap in bacon and smoke.
or, bake in a crock pot with a little watter, let cool, pull off the meat, add cram of mushroom soup to crock pot, add rabbit, a little milk and use as a gravy.
yummm
