Default boiled fish?

has anyone ever tried fish that was cut into chunks and boiled in water and vinigar, and then dipped in butter? well i had it this wkend at my brothers with some catfish we caught and it tasted mighty fine. tasted kinda like crablegs would or things of that nature. i would reckomend that one to anyone out there.

dosent the fish kinda fall apart though? ive never seen anyone boil fish.

If you poach it gently and then let it cool it stays together better. The fish kind of toughens up a little. It also depends what type of fish your using. Cod and Stripped Bass hold together pretty well.

it seemed to stay together just fine for us? we were using catfish. so that might be part of it and we cut it into nice sized chunks

Ive just never tried boiling it before and most of the fish I eat seems flakey and I assumed it would fall apart in the boiling water but I may try it and see

I call it poor man's lobster. I'll use sturgeon or bass, and toss in some Old Bay seasoning in the water, dip in melted butter.

I prefer to sream the fish instead of boiling it but its great dipped in hot butter.
