Default Pickling brine/liquid??

I spend most of my time over on the bow hunting forums, just checked this one out, looks great. Have to spend some time on this getting some of these great recipies.
Anyway, my question is this: Anyone know what all goes into the juice that pickled polish sausage,(bar sausage), is put in? I love the stuff, and like to put hard boiled eggs in it when the sausage is gone, I'd like to be able to make my own. I can see bay leaves & crushed reds, what else, and what is the actual liquid?? Thanks for any help!

Well I have been looking for the answer for you and the best that I have been able to come up with is this....

It is basically just vinegar (sometimes vinegar w/ a little water) and pickling spice (which can be bought premixed).
