Default Honey BBQ Beef Jerky Recipes

I stopped in recently at a Beef Jerky Outlet store in Dundee, MI and got several samples. The one I liked best by far was the Honey BBQ flavored jerky. Does anyone have any idea about how to make this on your own? I usually use a dehydrator. Do you use the honey as a marinade or do you apply it in some other fashion?

the best way i make my jerky is in a electric oven....soak the meat in the marinade for about 5-6 days....cover the bottom element with foil on the lower rack set at the very bottom of the oven....put tooth picks through your strips of meat and hang on the upper rack on the highest level you can put it on....with the tooth picks in between the upper rack rails all filled up....you set the oven at about 125 degrees....with a wooding spoon holding open the door about an 1 1/2"....about 6-10 hours enjoy....................bob

More Tender Jerky? I break the rules and slice my meat across the grain. It allows the marinade to soak in better and result is much more tender jerky. Yes, it is rounder than traditional jerky but the flavor and texture is worth it.
