Default Making jerkey in the oven.

Wanting to make some jerkey. Not enough to buy a smoker.I've heard of making it in the oven.Do you have to have a rack or can it lay in a tray.I know how to slice it,and i'll get some maranade, let it set over nite. How long in the oven and at what temp and the main thing is, can i do it in the oven using a tray?

Get some toothpicks and put through the meat to put on the racks. Leave the oven door cracked just a tad. Put it on "low" and let it sit overnight and check it the next morning.

Go to either Cabellas, Gandermountain, Wally World, or any other outdoor store. Look for "Hi Mountain Jerky Cure". It`s made for the oven, comes with all the instructions and there is about a dozen flovours. I`ve used them for years.

I've also used the High Mountain quite a bit along with the Cabela's racks, I add more spices. Low for several hours works great for whole meat, snack sticks etc.
