Default Salt water soak?

Just curious if you guys soak your loins and backstrap in salt water for any time at all before cooking them? I never did but a buddy of mine says he always does to draw the blood out.

I was raised to soak my squirrels in salt water for an hour after I shot them...If I did...it would be no longer than 30 minutes..

I have never soaked venison just rinsed it off before cooking to get blood off. Although I always soak my small game for a day. I don't know why I never bother with the venison but do with the small game, I guess it was how I was raised.

I decided to soak it but not in salt water. I have two loins and two backstraps from a small doe I killed Sat. morning soaking in a marinade of Olive oil, soy sauce, Montreal steak seasoning, and lemon pepper. It will all go in the smoker tomorrow evening with fresh hickory bark. My only goal is to not overcook it and let the prep work take its course.

Sounds good..I'm very leary in soaking it as well..I did once and the deer nearly lost all it's flavor..Never again

I do soak my fish in saltwater though
