Default Looking for a meat grinder...

Hey All,
After a trying summer I bought my wife a new bow so she can hunt with me. In doing so I all but cleaned out my hunting account. I've been unsuccessfully trying to find a used meat grinder. To start butchering my own deer, obviously.lol.... Ideally I would like to have an electric grinder, but not afraid of using a manual grinder this year if that is what it will take to get me going. If anyone has a meat grinder they are no longer using I would be interested in making a deal.

Thanks,
R

Hey man I dont have one to sell. I a not sure how much you are looking to spend but I believe I paid around $70-85 for an electric grinder from Wal-Mart last year and so far it has worked flawlessly!!!

I bought mine from Northern Tools.com, It's a #32 grinder with a large wheel with a v-belt pulley groove. I found a used 1/2 hp electric motor and made my own mount. I think I have less than $70 in the complete unit and it will grind venision as fast as I can feed it into the hopper.
It takes less time to grind three boned out deer than it takes to clean the grinder afterwards. I think this is likely the best deal on a serious meat grinder that you'll find anywhere and it can be used manually if you don't have a motor.

I think alot of meat has been ground over the years with set ups like fornra@yahoo.com. If you go that route, consider building a guard around the pulleys and belts.

I just bought one from The Sausage Maker. It will grind the meat and has an adaptor to make sausage too. There is a3/4 hp motor that rips though the meat. It is $119.00 and worth the investment. I'veused some of the cheaper models that the meat gets stuck in....its a real pain. Make sure you get a decent one.

I would buy a #32 size stainless hand grinder, remove the hand crank and fit on a large pulley, couple the pulley to a 3/4 hp. motor with a belt and you would have a grinder that will grind up meat in short order. forget about the stuffing attachment that goes on the end of a grinder, you are better off buying a proper stuffer of at least 10pound capacity.

OOPs fornra has done just that, I think this is the best way to go.
