Default Vacuum sealer...

I've heard all the positives about these things that I can stand. I'm gonna buy one.

I use freezer paper to wrap my deer now, but after a year it's starting to get freezer burnt.

Any hints on quality vacuum sealers??? How bout the Black & Decker model???

Thanks

We have one made by Tilia. Have had no problems with it, haave forzen meat, left overs etc. with it. Really like the idea that you can make the bags any length you need them. Watch for this one on TV that's where we got ours.

We have been using a Foodsaver brand, and it works good.

The one put out by Tilia is the Food Saver brand. I have there delux model sold in Cabela's for $159.99. If you look around they make several models though and they have a few different features so look carefully. Sometimes Cabela's has them on sale and have extra attachments for free, that is how I got mine.
I have not seen the Black and Decker model.

When we used to butcher pheasants We'd take them to the local locker to get them vacuum sealed. We'd take a couple hundred and it would cost us 10-15 bucks, and they did an awesome job. Nice, tight, and good looking. Just and idea.

I use one made by foodsaver. It works great, and its excellent for marinading. Just stick the meat in one of the pouches with some marinade (not too much) vacum seal it and put it in the fridge overnight.
