Default How to clean liver????????

When the deer is on the ground the real work begins, how, and what do you do to the liver to make it good eating. If you want add the heart to this subject.

Carry you a plastic bag with you,cut out the liver ,take back to camp wash it slice it and fry with some onions.Very rich tasting.

it's easy,just rase the little end and wipe gently.LOL
all kidding aside,theres not much to clean unless you hit the liver with broadhead or bullet.just wash and cut in 1/2"slices,season,flour lightly,pan fry with Vidilla onions.

the heart is also easy,split long way,clean out all the excess blood,season,flour and pan fry.

both are great eating.

I soak it over night in a little salt water, then drain it and soak it again in buttermilk, then I turn it into a nice patie, once its finished I take and broil some big buttom mushrooms, and take a big spoonfull of the patie in the middle of the mushroom and take some cooked crumbled bacon pieces and some stilton cheese and put it under the grill for a couple of minutes. Talk about good!!!

If it was up to me I would leave it to the crows and coyotes with the rest of the guts. My mom would kill me though. <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

I just carry a plastic bag to put it in and give it to a friend that likes it . It is good fried with onions .

Follow these easy steps:

1. Put liver in your plastic bag (my plastic shopping bag doubles as my seat on wet days).

2. Bring liver home, soak in a bucket of water over night.

3. Get up early and throw water and liver away.

4. Fry inner tender loin in butter, onions and garlic.

5. Butcher the rest of the deer.

This will probably go a lot quicker if you just recognize that you are wrong and I am right.
