RE: recipe with deer wrapped in bacon
I tried this, this past summer. I took a whole tenderloin and sprinkled it with mccormicks montreal steak seasoning. Then wrapped the whole thing in bacon. It took about 7 -9 slices to cover the whole thing. Then cooked it on the grill till done. Watch the bacon till it just starts to get crispy. Oh, and cook it slow. coals on 1 side, meat on the other.
With that said, after i cooked it and tried it, i did not care for it much. To me the bacon flavor overwhelms the meat flavor. Don't get me wrong, i like bacon, i just wanted to be able to taste my meat more.
