Default recipe with deer wrapped in bacon

Looking for a recipie where the deer is seasoned, wrapped in bacon and then prepared, not sure if it was baked or on the grill. Hubby saw it on Outdoor channel and wants me to cook it, but that is all the details he gave me.

Thanks!!

Just take the backstrap or tenderloins and cut them into 1" thick pieces. Wrap in a piece of bacon and put on the grill or in the oven until the bacon is cooked.I usually just season with salt, pepper, and maybe a little cayenne pepper. Yummy!!

I tried this, this past summer. I took a whole tenderloin and sprinkled it with mccormicks montreal steak seasoning. Then wrapped the whole thing in bacon. It took about 7 -9 slices to cover the whole thing. Then cooked it on the grill till done. Watch the bacon till it just starts to get crispy. Oh, and cook it slow. coals on 1 side, meat on the other.
With that said, after i cooked it and tried it, i did not care for it much. To me the bacon flavor overwhelms the meat flavor. Don't get me wrong, i like bacon, i just wanted to be able to taste my meat more.

I see your from NC so you know what Carolina Treet is.
I let the deer soak in Carolina Treet for about 1 hour, then wrap in bacon and grill. Give is a spicy BBQ flavor.

OR
I soak it in sweet milk and whostershire sauce for a couple hours, wrap in back, grill.

Good luck.
