Default Bacon

Does anyone know what a slab of bacon weighs before being processed? I have a recipei for making bacon and it says it will cure one slab. I have pork bellies that weigh 1 1'2 pounds and I sure a whole slab probably weighs in excess of 5 pounds. any answers from you guys on the farm or down south. Thank you.

Default RE: Bacon

on average 5 to 6 lbs.

of course it all depends on how big the hog was to start.
