Don't mean to rain on yer parade.
I wish ya luck and all that. Seems there are a thousand Cookbooks already outthere.
Share some of yer recipes here, give due credit to the source too. Some original signature dish owners may get toxic and sue over copywrite laws.

nohunt,
Trust me, I've already thought about copyright laws. My best friend is an attorney in Dallas. Any submission used will need the authors release statement.
As for the cookbook, cooking is a hobbie of mine and this will actually be the 2nd one I've published so I am no newcomer to this venture.
I actually pay myself for the publishing and give the books out to friend and contributers as gifts.
So next time ya type, why don't ya make a contibution and not worry so much about copyright infringement laws.
Thanks.

A famous Chef once said, every possible cooking recipe has already been invented. NO ONE can add anything new to cooking.

Fact is, no such thing as copywrite laws over recipes. I used the term since I like to give credits to those who altered recipes making it his/her signature dish.
By the time I make any dish, it is my signature recipe since I alter anything and everything.
Since I got to retire 12+years ago, I too publish cookbooks for handing out to friends and associates. No biggy

Problem is, people collect recipes for packaging into a book and DAMN few if any of the recipes were ever tried out and tripple tested to perform. Wolfgang Puck may have one of his Chefs cook a dish daily for a year before it is gotten right.

Friend of mine who knows absolutely nothing about cooking and cannot boil water entered a cooking recipe contest. He came up with all sorts of ingredients, put a name to it and won. The person collecting the recipes published his total no-recipe in a book trying to sell it to make a buck.

Brother, I cook/bake/preserve foods/can/cure meats & things the old old ways/smoke foods, make any sausage dreamable and pasta always from scratch seven days a week. Some meal functions feed 700 people. I put a dish out, its got to satisfy all palates of all age groups and ethnic backgrounds. I just did a 450 pound pig rotessoried for a party. This weekend we are doing a sheep and a pig for a club charity benefit.
I guess you sure told me about all your expertise.

Although honest, the &quot;I am writing a book&quot; routine probably wasn't the best approach for this crowd.<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>
