Speaking of deer aging; anyone have pics of deer at different known ages?
After 1.5 years I can't determine the difference. Thanks!!

Both of these deer are the same age....just a matter of genetics....
Hard to tell the deer's age unless you measure their jaw bone....There is a special tool for that.

Just a random shot of the deer .........the buck closest to the camera is 2 years old....The does are 2 years old.....The smallest fawns were born this Spring...

the two bucks in front are in velvet this spring.....
they are 2 years old
the racks of most bucks tend to peak at about 5-7 years of age...then their size and shape starts to shrink, and / or become abnormal....typically, not always.....

Thanks Sunset. These pics don't help much though. What would be good are broadside shots of bucks in winter coat with hardened antlers. The early season bucks don't look anything like what comes past our stands. Thanks again.
