I am getting into bow hunting, and am wondering what kind of clothing that you need. Does it need to be insulated and waterprook, or really warm, or what....I will be hunitng in Southern Missouri. Any help would be great

Default RE: Hunintg Clothes

I don't know what the weather is like in s.Missouris during bow season but this is what I have for Northern NY.

Lacrosse Burlys
wool socks w/wicking sock
wicking long underwear bottom (thin ones for warmer weather)
BDU style camo pants
cotton belt so you can wash it.
wicking long underwear top for colder weather
Long sleeve camo t-shirt or turtleneck
Heavier camo shirt (ie sweatshirt or button up)
Light waterproff jacket that won't get caught on your bow
Hat (I use baseball style) if it gets cold something heavier
face mask
camo gloves that you can shoot with

Remember to practice your bow with your hunting clothes on so your ready in the woods.

Wash yourself and your clothes in scent free soap and store in a airtight container (the clothes, not you). Put them on as close to when you hunt as possible. Descent your vehicle if you can't change at your sight.

I'm pretty comforatble with everything listed above but if anyone else has some other ideas I would love to see them.
