Default Do you ever bring along your dog?

I took my lab scouting with me last week, we both had a blast! We didn't see anything, but we have run into deer before. He just sits and looks at them, and the deer are usually just about as confused as he as. Eventually the deer will take off, but never in a real hurry.

what about you guys? Ever bring along your pals?

Would never work for me. My dog is a lab also. Well traiend except when he sees a deer he is gone. Might not see him for hours. He is a old dog now and he would kill himself chasing a deer. I traned this dog to do some remarkable things, but never could get him to stop chasing deer.

other lab owner here, though I don't take mine scouting. I take him in February/March to take down all my stands, but other than that he's a bird dog, not a deer dog!

took Jake out with me yesterday, but we only stayed out for about 5 hours, he started to get hot and i figured he had had enough....he walked by 2 quail, did nothing, told him, well, i know youre no bird dog, then he stopped looked at me, sniffed the ground and stood there, about 20 of em went flying, lol.......he doesnt like the woods as much as my Branddee did, but he did have fun.....we got to where i needed to go and rested for about 30 minutes, he just grazed on the grass, lol.....he's been sleepin' ever since......he didnt even get out of bed for an icecube and that dog will do anything for an icecube, lol......
