Default Being at ONE with nature!

With the key words being ONE.

Ever since second shotgun season, I can count the number of deer I have seen from my stand on 1 hand. That is with atleast 10 hunts. And the majority of them I have been skunked. Season ends in about 2 weeks and I have yet to take a shot this year. I passed up several button bucks and 1 1/2 year old bucks this year. I am hoping the weather will change and that it will get really cold with some snow. That will get the groups moving to the field I hunt a little earlier than after dark.

2 years with no deer in the freezer, I am going crazy!! Next year there will be no mercy for 1 1/2 year old bucks, maybe even the button bucks. First one buy will be carrying my arrow!!

Anybody else having such horrible luck in the late season?

Slow here too, all activity seems to be well after dark. The only time they were moving earlier was when the weather was cold. Now that it has warmed up again - they are moving very late. In fact, they are not showing up at my backyard feeder until after 11:00PM which is unusual. They typically show up right around sundown this time of year....

They're herded up just about everywhere now except maybe in the South. If you're in the right spot you'll wonder where all the deer came from. It's either feast or famine. I have been seeing a LOT of movement and feeding at mid day when it was a little cooler. Now it's turned warmer the last couple days... who knows. BUT, they're out there. They're bedding REALLY early around here. Find some food and try a midday or early evening hunt. If it's a field, set up just inside the woods. The deer around here have been bedding right up against the edges and in little pockets of cover in the middle of nothing.

yes!!

Amazing thing the elusive Whitetail. Our season ended Dec.15th. Dec 16th through present they seemed to have come out from the underground tunnel system that I know they construct every year. I see deer everywhere in the fields when I'm driving around now. As david said, they seem to be out and about around midday when it's good and warm.
