Best Recurve bows for whitetail?
#2
Try lots of bows and at poundage lower than you think you need. Pride makes us buy an over poundage bow and we fail before we begin. Learn to shoot well since accuracy reigns supreme. If you are over poundage, your accuracy will suffer. A modern recurve built at 45 Lbs in the hands of a practiced archer is very deadly tool.
Then practice.
Then practice.

I agree, switching to a Recurve from a compound can be tuff. Your holding all the weight back yourself as you draw, there isn't any let off. Like mentioned above, start out with a 45 lb. bow just to see if you like that style of shooting. You'll be amazed on how fast you can pick up instinctive shooting, but your going to have to practice a lot more with that style of bow to keep proficient.
