You can get a few benefits from a new string:
- possibly a few fps depending on the string material
- stability - worn out strings can break and move.
If the stock string on the Diamond is less than 2 years old, I'd stay with it for now. Putting on a new string is maintenance and requires a re-tune of the bow. If you are new, you may not want to go down this road.
In order to upgrade a bow, I'd say rest and sight are the first two things.
If the string is older, then yes, replace it. They dry out and break, primarily under the serving since you can't wax there. They usually don't outright break, but a strand will break and the string may start getting longer then.
