Default Post-Rut rubs/scrapes

The spot I bow hunt I stayed out of during rifle season because the owner's son rifle hunts. Upon going in there after 2 weeks absence I could not believe all the rubs and scrapes 60 yards to the north of my treestand. I have good bucks on camera too during these two weeks. I am worried since the rut is over now that I may never see some of these bucks again. Before the rut all I was seeing were does and dink bucks and I fear that's all I will see now. My question is...will some of these big bucks still visit these scrapes to see if any does are coming into heat late? Or will they return to their core areas which I believe is on the neighbors property?

The rut last a lot longer than you may think. With does who weren't bred coming back into estrus (as well as doe fawns - some of them).....that's why I think you're seeing the rubbing/scraping so late.

It may not be as pronounced/acute as the primary........but, it'll be going on for a while, yet.

Good luck.

gmmat is correct, does that were not bred the first go around will come back into estrus in about 28 days. Sounds like a good place to be.
