Smile A Really Fun Day & Hunts

I've never experienced a day like today in my short 3 years of hunting. But now I know a little more what the pre-rut is all about. I did a little still hunting moving with the wind in my face toward a ridge I saw some good sign on this spring hunting Turkey. About 50 to 60 yards from the main deer path I saw a Buck nose down and on a mission. Unfortunately I was to far away for a bow shot. He never noticed me,if only I had gotten there a minute sooner. Tonight I had another little basket 8 run a Doe under my stand, she was not interrested.Hearing him grunting and chasing her all over the place was something new to me. After they ran off 4 Does came in behind me and one was a pig! She came straight at me and would not turn to give me a shot but looked up and froze in place. She knew I was there and backed out alerting the other 3,darn it! Those big Does give me the hardest time,It's the 3rd. time they have avoided the freezer this year. Things are really heating up here in Indiana the road kills are rising and some good bucks are droping. Good luck all who like us start gun season this coming weekend.
