Default groundblind and height

i had a tripod in a place where u cant climb with a climber and a recent storm blue it down and tore it to pieces but now i dont have anything to hunt out of. so i was wondering if groundblinds work? have you ever killed a deer out of a groundblind with a bow? can you make a homemade blind to work?

second i do have a 12' ladder stand i could use but wouldnt that be the same thing as a blind becouse its so low to the ground?
thanks for your time jd

I have 6 ladderstands, and not one of them is over 12'. I have taken many deer out of them with my bow.

Lots of deer are killed out of 12' to 15' stands. Height doesn't really matter if it's in the right spot.

either one could be successful.. dependent, once again, on what the the situation is.

I agree that either will work, i just killed a doe at 22 yrds out of a 15 ft ladder on sunday. Blinds also work great, i have had my best luck out of blinds that are brushed in really good. You could also try homemade brush blinds if you hunt heavily wooded areas, i do this alot by taking old fallen down branches and logs and stack and pile them to conceal me and it also works great and is cheap lol. good luck.
