Quartering towards you is a no shot situation...

Quartering away I aim so the arrow exits just behind the opposite leg...

I try not to take quartering to shots with my bow, to many problems (i.e. hit in chest or shoulder, or bad gut shot).

As for my quartering away, I aim so that the arrow goes into the opposite shoulder.

quartering away shots IMO are the best, the angle gives you quite a bit of room for error.

but aim for the vitals! haha and try not to hit the shoulder.

The exit hole. If you can hit it and exit it through the back of the far lung, good. If not it's not a shot. Always aim for the exit hole and you'll be fine.

Well personally i LOVE quartering away shots, just look at the far shoulder and try to hit it.. quartering to you shots are nice for me also, the set up i have for my bow i can shoot trhough both shoulders and pass through fine so i just aim for the shoulder and the opposit side lung if you can.. just my .02.. alot of people wouldnt agree with me but i've shot 5 deer quartering to me and i recovered them within 80 yards..
