well right off the bat had my biggest buck coming running by me and i took a shot and hit some brush and got him in the gut with my muzzloader im shooting 245gr powerbelts and 150grs of powder FYI .Deer threw blood and stomach everywhere not alot of blood mostly contents of stomach. My heart sunk as i pride myself on not hitting deer like this and making good shots. So we waited an hr not alot of time i know but other guys in the area so we didnt want them on him we worked him awhile whole time finding stomach contents and blood mixed with it. He went maybe a mile and bedded down i jumped him but no shot and he went again good dark red blood in the bed and more stomach so this is where i backed off of him as it was dark deer went all day shot him at 1000am and was still alive at dark i hope my buddies can find him as im goingback to afganistan tomorrow morning we know the little peice of woods hes in just hope to find him in the morning with the snow shouldnt be that hard. But when he was running there was no blood realy just lil specks and stomach contents while he ran so yall think, hes in that peice dead or what?

Gut shot like that he will die. Powerbelts are known not to expand with a 150 grain charge and leave a poor blood trail. Try a Barnes bullet next time and you will be very happy with the blood trail. Good luck finding the deer. Let us know.

He is dead somewhere....whether he is in that small woods will be determined in the am. He still could bed for a while a move again. Being that he was pushed that far he should be hurting but then that proves how tuff whitetails really are. Good Luck and thanks for your service to our country.
