Default Anyone esle use a compass for bowhunting

I was trained in compass use, long before I went back to archery. So it was second nature to me, to fix the direction the deer went, by compass, after arrowing it from the tree stand.
Wondered if any one else used the compass or gps to fix the direction the deer headed?

I do that very thing...I mark the spot I hit them and the last spot I saw them. Got a doe a few weeks ago, and buried in her off shoulder with no passthrough, therefore no blood...found her 10 yards from the last spot I saw her with blood only the last few feet. Most likely would not have been nearly that easy had I not used the compass.
