Default question bout shot

i shot a 6 point last night were the blue dots are he jumped my arrow i got about 5 inches penitration then my arrow snaped he layed down like 70 yards from the shot for about 2 min and i watched him get up and hunched walkin real slow with his tail flickerin alot but i lost him in the woods and the rain washed the blood away but i did jump a deer lookin which i think was him im pretty mad about it gonna look this morn think hes dead?

Seems that you missed everything important sounds like he was hurting tho. Idk really i've never tracked a neck wound deer I would say that he prolly went a long way tho.

I would say it largely depends on what blood vessels were hit and how much he bled out. Without knowing exactly where he was hit, it is hard to say. I do know that you owe it to him to do a good search. It stinks that it was raining because it makes for a very difficult track.

Do yourself a favor. Take the binocular and try to track in the direction you last saw that deer going. Use your glass more than your feet. You might see him ahead of you and be able to judge whether he is mortally wounded or even dead.
