I always wonder what ranges I have the pins on my sight set for, especially when pulling down on a critter. I shoot a 4 pin sight, but the pins are removable. I NEVER shoot beyond 40 yards..... Sometimes having the 4 pins get kinda close to each other..... Question is whether to remove some of the pins, AND what yardage would you set the pins for? I've been considering removing 1 pin and set the remaining 3 for 20, 30, and 40 yards....... Whatcha think?
I think less pins is better! So yea that would be fine, or u could just get a single pin sight and get rid of all that clutter. But I would not stick my pins any closer than 10 yards apart

I run mine at 20, 30, 40, 45, and 50.
I practice to 80, but NEVER take a kill shot at more than 30-35.

i had a trophy ridge 5 pin sight but on one of my stupid little kicks i cut off the bottom 2 so i now shoot with 3 pins 20-30-40 . i wish i had the other 2 back for long range practice. i like when 30 yards feels like a chip shot.
i have mine set at 20 30 40 i haven't even sighted in my other 2 pins when i have time too they will be set at 50 and 60 i wont shoot anything over 50 yards tho but in camp we will set up targets out to 60 and 70 yards just messing around.
I only use one pin that is dead on at 25. To shoot 30 I aim half way up the deers body (instead of 1/3 of the way up) 35 is top of the back, and fourty is a bit over the top of the back. Never shoot past 30 though. If you wanna keep three pins I'd go 20, 30, 40.
