Default Sickening Poachers

I am greatly sickened by what is going on in my area I hunt. I hunt my buddy's land and he texts me a picture of this nice buck laying dead on his land asking me if I shot it and I said no I wish. Come to find out the landowner to the north found 3 dead bucks on their land. Then across the road to the west my buddy saw a massive dead buck laying there. That's 5 dead bucks. My buddy called the Game and Parks and they came out. All bucks were shot with a high powered rifle and the game warden assumes they were spotlighted at night. Poaching greatly sickens me but the fact that they don't even take them for the meat makes it even worse. They are just shooting them and leaving them there. Why would somebody do this? Are they made that they can't hunt in the area so they want nobody else to be able to shoot a buck. What is going on? This just in as I type this... Just got a text saying a 6th dead buck was found in a cut cornfield to the north. The game warden is talking about setting up a sting with a decoy.

That is terrible. The sting with a decoy will probably work.

Just found out the landowner to the north saw a couple 4-wheelers cruising on her property last night and she called the cops on them. I sure hope these creeps get caught asap

Wow, please update when you can. If they are hitting the area that frequently then chances are they will be caught. I hope they slam them with fat fines and also give jail time. Road doggin' at night is bad enough, but to just leave them there is totally lame. My guess is it is ignorant, drunk kids looking for thrills.

I live about a 1/4 mile off the road in what was supposed to be a neighborhood. It only has 14 lots and is surrounded by fields and trees. I am the farthest back in the neighborhood. When I was getting the house built, I found a dead doe and fawn laying next to each other on my lot. Occasionally this time of year, we get people driving through at night, I assume looking for deer. Have never found another dead one or heard a shot, but I expect sometime in the not to distant future to see it happen.

It is especially sickening for them to leave the deer. At least take it and eat it.

That makes me sick . You pass on a buck and let him get older and spread his geenes and you get no reward . That stinks . Hope you get them

I built my house on a prime road hunting location about 5 years ago and had found a couple of dead deer the first year. The next year I had found a buck, no head just the body. I called the conservation agent and he came out and took a look around. He asked if he could use a corner of my property to set up a decoy for the next few nights and I said sure. I also asked if the deer on my property shot back if there would be any issues. He laughed and and said as long as it's taillights or tires and not bodies that were hit. I never did find out if he set up, but I hear a couple of locals that got busted. Haven't had any issues since. And the deer never did get to shoot back.

My buddy has some good hunting land and has been getting nice bucks on camera, The other day at practice (we are coaches) he told me they found 3 dead bucks with there heads cut off not to far from the road on his property. I dont know how it is rewarding to have a set of horns that you can not brag about because you suck at life and poach. O yeah and wish us luck we are 8-0 and the #8 in the state and play the #1 team in the state friday.

Poachers are just the worst kind of people, they not only hurt hunters personnally but unfortuanatly hurt the hunters image...I hope they get caught, i hope all of them across the country get caught.

I had a guy try to shoot a deer out his truck window with a rifle infront of my house in the middle of the day. I knew a couple of does had bedded next to the house, and i saw this guy poke his rifle out the window. He didnt get a shot off as i came out side shooting some .40 S&W rds into the air. I found out they caught him recently, not after he shot deer all up down the road for years, and put a hole in my neighbors horse barn, from one of his misses.

Get tags if you can.. what gave this guy away was 10 different residents had his tags and make and model.. They apparently just followed him and waited for him to do it again.
