long heavy duty rope (I hate the feeling when I'm letting it down that maybe, just MAYBE, the rope will break and there goes my bow on a free fall ) and a nice tough carabiner clip.

X 2. Tied real good to the top of the stand. Then hanging down to about 5 feet off the ground. So when you clip your bow to its all ready off the ground and not swinging.....

Ropes are human scent wicks.

My rope stay out on my stands 24/7. Then I leave it up top with me after I pull my bow up.

Use a pull up rope. You can hook it up at the top after you pull up your bow to minimize scent. I use a small clip to make it quicker and easier to connect/disconnect.
