Default Got the old man his first!

Finally got my dad to come up to hunt with me in the flat land. His first year with the crossbow (and bowhunting in general) so i wanted to put him on some deer. I had found where they had been crossing the swamp in the late summer and stayed out of the area becuase it is close to their beds. Well I had to work from 10p to 6a so as soon as I got home we headed to the woods. Walked in about 3/4's of a mile just to find the swamp had turned into a raging river! We moved on down about 100 yards and I put him by a tree (he doesn't do the tree stand thing) and i went over about another 100 yards and sat down. I didn't want to walk out and bust the deer off of him since it was daylight already.
So I sit for about an hour and see 5 does about 60 yards away walking. I hit the doe bleat and got their attention but never could get them closer. Right at 7:30 I heard dad's arrow hit a tree and about 5 minutes later I heard him whistle. Snuck over to him and he was all teeth! He said I got 2 down! He ended up missing the first one and they circled back and he shot (maybe the same deer) the second time and double lunged a nice big doe. She ran about 150 yards and pilled up. First one in the flat land and first with his bow. I am hopin he is hooked now! Glad I could start paying him back for all the deer he put me on!
He kept asking how did you know they would come that close? How did you know to pick that tree? All I said was I had a good teacher!

P.S. I am a believer in RAGE broad heads. Entry hole was huge and it cut through two ribs like nobody's business!!!! Blood everywhere for a high body shot from the ground!

I am lucky to come from a family of hunting. I miss the days we used to all go to deer camp and stay for the week. My grandpaw's, uncles, friends, everyone would go. Now I am lucky to get one or two days to hunt with my dad now.
Yea.... as far as the pictures go... I had been up for 20 some hours and was in a hurry to get her skinned out and cut up so we kind of forgot about pictures! We won't forget it anytime soon but I do wish I could share some pics to go along with the story.
