I have a few groundhogs in the back yard that I need to ' take care of' . Unfortunately because of the neighbors, I can' t shoot a gun at them but if they were to accidentally walk in front of an arrow...

Is a field point ok to shoot and will a body shot do take care of them???

No a field point won' t work. Groundhogs are tough, use a broadhead, and don' t be suprised if they still make it to thier hole. A normal chest shot should work fine, I don' t know if you think you are capable of hitting them in the head, you could go for that.

Also if that doesn' t work, there is some real quiet 22 ammo out there, depending on just how close the houses are.

I help my father-in-law get rid of his groundhog problem, same situation as you. I first tried some field points but unless you make a headshot you have to put three and four arrows in them. And that seems to piss them off for some reason, I couldn' t imagine why? You' d be better off using broadheads. Groundhogs are a blast to shoot, the fuzzy overgrown rats they are. Or you could try a pellet gun shooting the pointed type pellets, my father-in-law also does this, but you have to be pretty close and shoot them behind the soft part behind the ear. I think stick with the bow and have some fun practicing for deer season.
