Default Mississippi Bowhunting

i'm going down to Oktibbeha county in mid-october. when does the rut kick in down there. im from wisconsin so i didnt know if the rut kicked in at the same time. i was also wondering if you had any tips or anything for hunting bucks down south

october is way too early for the rut. usually happens around christmas and the following week or two.
hints: bring a thermacell. watch for snakes. chances are there will have been no frosts by the time you hunt here. prepare to sweat.

That early in the season focus your efforts on food sources and if it dry a watering hole would be a good find.
