Default Volume test??

i just bought a string suppressor and im trying to find the way to make my bow the most quiet. what would be a good way to test the volume of my bow?? i plan to try it with it on, off, with stabilizer, without, with one turn out, 2 turn, etc. it all sounds the same to me, either im deaf or the suppressor didnt make it quieter either way my bow is still loud, i think. any help is appreciated!

Have a friend listen to you shoot - with and without the supressor. It's difficult to judge sound from a bow that you are shooting. You can also vary the distance from string to supressor to see if it affects noise level.

Put more rubber on it then I it's still loud

there's really no way to accurately test the sound even with a cheaper decibel meter. Not accurate enough for a bow

I tried a string dampeners on a bow i had a few years back and to me it never made a diffeence, actually it made it a little worse.I would adjust the distance between the string and rubber using a business card.
UUmmm pse bowmaster never herd of that bow,

I found a few shareware audio sampling programs as I planned to take a good look at noise made by a bow. They are rather complecated. If you do a search, you can find these programs around. They will perform complex freq analysis of fourier analysis, etc.

All you need is a microphone, laptop, and it will capture the noise. Noise amplitude alone does not tell the whole story. You want to look for length of the noise, the frequencies of the noise, etc.
