Default jubilee state park, illinois

Link below. Just wanted to know if anyone knows about this park or has hunted it before. Was thinking of maybe trying this place next year. http://www.dnr.state.il.us/lands/Lan...aps/jbcmap.pdf

Yes sir, it's only about 30 or 40 miles from here. Decent park with a LOT of deer. However, over the last couple seasons and lots of mentions in the local papers like the Peoria Journal Star... it seems to get crowded pretty quick.

Thanks Il-Cornfed,
I seem to see deer and had passed on some smaller ones at Shawnee last year. Just the other few guys didn't seem to see any. They are just checking around for a diff place.....I still like Shawnee though ha!
Thanks!

There are some smaller wildlife management areas in So. IL worth checking out. You could hunt them a few days and Shawnee a few days as well.

Dolan Lake, and Ten Mile Creek are worth checking out. If you get in the area give me a holler.

Lots of places down in that area-I've not been for sometime though. Crab Orchard "used" to be very good.
If you go to Ill. DNR & publications & you can get a pamphlet on "trophy managed' areas & their rules BUT theres plenty other hunters checking them out too.

Have never hunted at Jubilee, but I live in the area. There are a ton of deer in the area, and some very nice bucks. However it is a public area in central IL which does not have many options for good public bowhunting, therefore you will have to deal with many other hunters.
