Default Here's a tip! "staying Bow Buff" (from Field and stream)

Here is a tip I was just reading in field and stream. for how to "stay bow buff" the article read something close to this:

To keep in bowhunting shape through the off season run one end of a rope through a set of weights weighing slightly less than your draw weight (You can add more later) Using a large washer as a stop tie off the rope. Run the other end over a lifting bar set at chest height (fulcrum in the picture) With your bow hand on the bar pull the rope toward your face with your string hand, stopping below your chin hold for 10 seconds let down and repeat do three sets of 10-20 reps three times a week.

That's pretty much how it read I figured I'd share because I've been looking for a good way to do this.

Hope this helps.

Ryan.

P.s. this drawing is a real piece of work.

If you do that....switch hands and do it with the other arm, also.

Or you could just shoot your bow a lot in the off season. Then, not only do you stay "buff" but you might even become a better shot .

I cant store or have my bow on campus let alone shoot it so. Its all I can do to stay with it. Just putting it out there for whoever may be in this type of situation, I thought of it as a really great idea.

I agree with this, too. In fact, what some call the off season I call hunting season. That's when I don't get to enjoy my passion---shooting. I get archery equipment to use it. Hunting, 3D, target. You name it. I sure can't see the sense in dropping a grand or more on something just to let it lay around and collect dust 80% of the time. You know. Why buy a Corvette to drive around the block a couple days a year and leave it in the garage the rest of the time.
