I sit more than stand and have actually found I shoot a bow better from a sitting position. IMO, at least for me, it is more stable than trying to stand on a platform.

I have found that sitting works best for me in a stand.

Less movement if you can shoot sitting.

hunting from a sumit viper, its almost impossible to shoot sitting unless its to the left and cant shoot down sitting hardly at all...

so i am always standing to shoot...but, its not a huge deal...ive never "needed" to stand and couldnt...i can usually spot movement or the deer through the brush and can get up unnoticed...ive also never been busted when trying to stand...

i TRY to stand when i feel deer aughta be moving...you know, last hour or so of light...first hour or 2 of daylight etc...

i hunt pretty thick areas...areas that some people would say are "too thick to bowhunt" i know some hunt much thicker...i havent made it to the next level yet but surely will..i am likeing thick more and more each hunt..so that helps get away with movement as well...

so far, its been working out...

i also sit with my bow across the front of my stand ready to go...i can stand and have it upright and release hooked up in 1 motion...opposed to having it hanging on some sort of hanger and having to reach for it and pull it off from there...although i have to stand, moving a bow from a hanger probably creates more VISIBLE movement than i do by standing...sure i stand up..but really only about half of me moves..and its not a BIG movement..

i usually stand i find it easier plus if they don't come on my left side i can rotate into position

I practice shooting while standing so I feel more comfortable/confident in that position.
