Default Scraps and rubs.

Ok got a scrap and rub question for you guys. First to make sure i am right. A scrap in on the ground and a rub is on a tree right. Seem to always mix the two up.
i am hunting a bean field that runs north and south. It is square with woods on three sides and a creek to the east side. I walk down the west side and go to the southwest corner. On the west side there are a few ground scraps on the trail between the field and the woods. Is it ok to walk over or just around them. i soak my boots in scent killer but do not want to screw up. If i am seeing the scraps there does that mean the big buck is around there and walks the trail i am hunting regularly
Also should i spray some buck urine on them or anywhere near the trail. Kind of thought about when i drag a doe estrus line in draging a buck urine line to. Maybe make the big guy real makde and bring him to me thust getting some much need FOOD. Well not NEED but WANTED. If i go deer less this year i am going on a hunger strike.
On a funny note. My brother said the other day. IF you kill a few deer we wont need to buy any meat. I ofcourse laughed and asked what made him think he was eating any of my deer me. I also told him the 12ga was in the other room and the deer where down the street but to stay out of my stand.

Tim, you got the scrape and rub thing right.

As far as what those scrapes are telling you, well it could be several different things. I have scrapes that appear in the same spots every year. I am going to assume these are community scrapes and if you put a trail camera on them, you will see that a lot of different bucks will visit the same scrape. I kind of think of scrapes like these like bars. Many bucks will check them to see if there are any ladies in need of love.

I would do my very best to avoid getting human scent in them and I am also not a big fan of putting any non-natural scent in scrapes. If anything, I like the idea of using a drag line as you walk past them to your stand, but try to find real doe urine.

I hope this is a sign of good things getting ready to happen for you. Good luck!
