Default First bow kill/ First Texas Whitetail

bow kill.jpg

Shot this Texas 9 pt on tuesday Oct. 20th. I was a little late getting out in the woods. I got to the property I hunt at 5:50 pm. Got all my gear and started walking to my ground blind. I crossed a creek, and started walking up the hill that leads to a little open grass field. When I got to the top of the hill and the opening into the field, I stopped and carefully looked around the field. I spotted a doe already out in the field. So I dropped my pack, got an arrow ready and got on my knees.
So i watched the doe for about a minute she circled to my left and I saw this buck following her. They went out of my sight, feeding right in front of my ground blind. I moved up another 10 yards and kinda hid in some brush. At about that time the doe came back out into view she was about 40 yards from me, and the buck followed her. He was about 25 yards when I made the shot.
I knew i hit him good. I had shot him at 6:05. He ran about 40 yards and died.
