Question Curtains on the Deer stand ????

anyone had experience using curtains for a deer stand?

I build a brand new deer stand this year....a big box-on-posts-kind.

my right and left side have a wood half wall and burlap above so i can sneak a peak......the front has a wood half wall and no curtains.

Could I add curtains to help obscure my position/movement ??? or would it interfere with my shooting too much??

I was thinking of using burlap cut into strips about 4-6inches wide and hanging them with a small gap in between for shooting....

i got my first chance using the stand yesterday evening and the instant i moved in the stand all eyes were on me so i wasn't able to get decent shot

let me know your thoughts

I may also decorate myself with the same burlap to make me harder to see on contrast

appreciate the insight!!!

Making up your blind is always fun as long as it has a good baking to break up your (silouete) spelling?. if your blind is out in the open putting all that stuff around you could make it worse by making you stick out like a sore thumb. The best way to do it is to look at it from a deers perspective and go off of that. Get down and see what they see and there is your answer. Remember they know the woods better than you! So brake up your outline.

thanks for the reply....I did just that and found the source of my problem....

I left the top open to the sky....when viewed from below it sure did cast a outline.

So i added a burlap roof to block the light and the curtains....its pretty dark in there now and it will be hard to see an outline....

I will have better luck now hopefully the ribbon curtains wont interfere with the shooting....thats my only concern really...should be OK

Default My gun season blind Poop n Shoot :-)...

Here you go man, this is your answer to building a blind. Works well, of course take out the tank and build you a floor, cut some windows, make pexiglass henged windows and you are good to go. I have to get some burlap to go over the windows. to help hide my movements. This one has been extremely successful in the last 3 years for our group of hunting buddies. Just enough room, could be a little larger on the inside but definitely does the job.
