That is a big bear without a doubt, but Pa's record bear weighed in at 864lbs! It was killed in Pike Co in 2003.

Bear's are scored on the size of the skull not the weight, but with that said that is a huge bear!

I was aware of that, but thanks. The bear in the posted article only had weight mentioned. That Pa bear had a skull that measured 22"+. Just say'n.

The brother of the guy that got the bear is a friend of mine.He has a bunch of pics I'll try to get posted.The head is massive!Won't know if he's the new record until after the 60 day (I think it's 60) drying out period.
