I just got in early its raining again. I had the ulgyest deer come behind me! It was an eight point with three on one side and five on the other with a drop tine. I didnt shot it because it was two and half year old. Did i mess up?

IMO, the only person that can say you messed up, is you. Your the one that has to be happy with what you put in the freezer. Not everyone has 130 to 150 inch class deer to choose from. If you have limited hunting area and time, then you have to get, what you can get, when you can get it.

Just like above, you have to decide for yourself if you want to pass a deer or take it. I bet you get lots of responces saying they would have past on him too. It sounds like a cool buck to me, if it was me, I would have probably taken him.

Where I hunt, we try to shoot a minimum of 2.5 year old buck and try to have it score around 100" or larger. Its tough because our neighbors shoot anything!

So to answer your question, I would have shot at the buck!

Sounds like your having doubts about your decision. If he walks bye tomorrow will you shoot him? If so, you should have shot him today. Whatever your decision be happy with it and don't worry about what we think.
