Default PA 7 pt. down!

I shot this Pennsylvania 7 point on Tuesday, October 6 at around 6:45 pm. I had gotten into my stand that evening late because of school work. I figured I wasn't even going to be able to hunt that night, but I finished in time to sit for the last hour and a half of daylight. I had only seen a red fox that evening untill he showed up. I was not even expecting to see a buck that night, my main priority was to shoot a doe so I could have the rest of the season to focus on a buck, especially during the rut.

I looked to my left and there he was about thirty yards away. I coudn't believe he had snuck in on me! I immediately grabbed my bow and eventually stood up when he was not looking. He came closer to me and started walking down to my left, broadside, and I drew, but he walked past my opening so I let down. He then turned back, and walked directly towards me at about fifteen yards, broadside. I drew again and released my arrow tipped with a Muzzy 3-blade and watched it pass through him and stick in the ground. He went only about fifty yards.

This is my second year archery hunting with a compound bow. This is my second buck out of three deer harvested with my Parker bow. He is not a huge buck with 4 pts. on the left and 3 on the right, with small brow tines. I couldn't be happier though!
