Default Straight fletch.

My wife bought me a new fletcher and it came with a straight fletch jig.I've always used a right hand twist. My question is how will an arrow fly with a straight fletch and a fixed blade broad head.

Chances are good that the arrow will plane off course without the rotation imparted by the fletching to counter the blades steering the shaft.

I only use straight fletching, 3.5 vanes and use fixed blade thunderhead 125's I have no problems with "planing".

I never liked a spinning arrow, only serves to slow it down. While only a little yea the act of fletching imparting spin is comparable to the arrow towing a small parachute.

If the bow is tuned right the arrow will fly true regardless of type of fletching used.
