I am building a platform blind stand 6 feet off ground with 6x8 platform. I am wondering how big to make the shooting window off the front. Im thinking 4x4 feet. Plywood window that will open while hunting and close when not. Is this plenty of room for bow?

Too much actually. I'm thinking of building a 6x6 foot box blind about 8 feet off the ground for the heck of it and so I can hunt longer when its freezing out late season. And so the kids (as they get older) and my buddies can tag along. I haven't figured out the exact dimensions of the bow windows but I can't imagine making them more than one foot wide, probably less and tall (probably about three feet). Just enough to shoot really. Any more and you're showing too much for bowhunting.
I was looking at box blinds on a few websites and most of them make there windows for bow hunting around 8 inches wide. I guess length varies to what you want. Of course you would want to put in a few of these at different locations on your stand.

I was thinking the same. I was thinking one gun window and one bow window on each side. Though the bow windows would be getting used the majority of the time. I was even thinkin of making cross shaped windows on each side and then you could cover the top and bottom of the cross with plywood covers for gun hunting.
I think 4x4 is to much.Heck why build the blind. I would say 1 foot wide and as long as you want. I would go with 1 by 3 or 4 horz. My plan when i build one
