More or less the same way you age bucks. I tend to look more at the nose and head. If the doe has a long nose and a big head she is getting pretty old, but a real big body is a sure sign also.
Typically when I am curious about a does age I can get a good guess by the sweetness and/or bitterness of her milk.. The more bitter it is, the older the doe is.. The sweeter it is, the younger the doe..
The only problem is it takes an 8 ounce glass to get an accurate reading..

Haha, that is funny.

Actually....size is NOT a good determination of a doe's age. The biggest does in a herd are typically 2.5's and 3.5's.
I tend to agree with this.I know I killed a very large, loooong nosed doe that field dressed 139#'s.I sent the jaw bone off to the state for examination and the results came back she was only 2 1/2.
