Default summer scouting

what do all you guys look for when ur doing your summer scouting on a new area?Also where do u guys start,do u look at topo maps,ect,ect.Just wondering how everyone goes about finding the key place to arrow a buck..thanks!

We always start with topo maps but nothing beats boots on the ground to scout a new area. I always look for the food sources and go from there. good luck. It is always cool to check out a new spot.

I use trail cams to get an idea of what is running around, and try to document growth throughout the summer. For early season trail cams can really help, as well as watching the ag fields and where they are entering while still on summer feeding patterns. After late October, its a whole other story though...Good luck have fun.
