Default Mystery animal picture - you make the call

I got this guy on a trail camera in SE Ohio.

So what say you? What the hell is it?




As a point of reference, here's a yearling buck standing a bit closer to the camera.

My guess is that it's a black color-phase coyote. Agree or disagree? I've never seen a black one in the wild before, but I know they do exist in this area. A rarity, to be sure.

Looks like a black panther to me.

Black phase coyote or someones dog. the ears are a tell tale sign for me along with the shape of the head that it is some type of K9....

Quik been seein any good ones yet in Allegheny Co? ive got one so far on the cam hopefully he makes a mistake this fall.

Looks like a black panther. Down here in alabama we have a few people kill them all the time in the mountains.

Quik, that's pretty freaky!!! Looks to me like a black yote. My buddy hunts coyotes pretty regularly with dogs around the EV area. Is that where this pic came from? I think he killed 3 or 4 black ones last year.

Pm me sometime if your coming around the area. Maybe we can go check out the AEP land. I'll show you some sheds we found right across the hill from where you hunted.
