Default Help me decide which trail camera.......

Allright everyone, I'm in the market for a new trail camera and not really sure which to buy. I don't want to break the bank buying one( well wife don't want me to break the bank, I really have no problem with it...lol). But the last one I bought, a 1.3MP stealth cam, runs the 6 AA batteries dead in about 1 1/2 pictures..... Very fustrating. I hate that damn thing. So needless to say I want one that will last atleast for 2 or 3 pictures.

So please tell me what has been working to best for you guy's and why.

Thanks again everyone.

Default RE: Help me decide which trail camera.......

I personally use a Moultrie I-40 and really have no complaints. I have used stealthcam and cuddeback before and can honestly say that I have not been happier with a cam. It runs off 6 D batt and you will be amazed at the batt life. they outlast my stealthcam that runs off a 12v external batt. It is unbelievably user friendly and believe me, i am not the brightest bulb in the box. It takes great pics. here is a exampleI do not think i will ever own a diff one. Hope this helped

*SORRY* i cant get the pic to be big. told you i was not bright. lol

Well, if money was endless, I would say buy a Cuddeback.

I had 2 different model of Cuddebacks, and a Bushnell but sold all of them once I started using Home Brews.

bushnell's are nice cams for the money...won't have another stealth cam digital. reconyx makes the cadillac....but the bushnell cams are nice and cheap.

I have 2 stealth cam I540s that work great for me. Over 3000 pics without battery change. Great picture quality also. I also love the 9 picture burst. For the price its a great cam. It all depends on being lucky enough to get a good one sent to you also. I have a leaf river ir5 too. I have had zero problems with this one as well.(knock on wood). great pictures, great trigger speed, and long battery life. And the viewing screen is nice especially when you forget the digital cam to look at the pics. I guess I've had a lotta luck when it comes to cams.

I would personally buy the new IR Recon. Best camera in the market right now for it's price.

I own 4 cuddebacks at the moment and love them too!

Another vote for the homebrews. You won't get any better pics and at half the cost of Cudde's and Recons. If you aren't up to building one yourself there are people who build and sell them all the time..
