Default Is the Arc worth it?

I Bow hunt whitetail deer alot in a climber and I have a Bushnell rangefinder without the ARC and I was wondering should I invest in one with the ARC?

Thanks

The only place I could see it being worth it is long range shooting in mountain country. But for bow, it makes very little difference. Difference in shot at an animal at 30 yards being 22ft in the tree is 1.08yard.

I bought one because I go a trip for a week hunt in real hilly country... I helps alot if you hunt hills and don't live in a place where you can practice those types of shots.

I know at 20 yards, out of my stand 22ft up I am going to hit 1.5" high usually.

The examples they give like on bushnell's website is totally unrealiastic. They have a picture of a guy shooting a deer at a 44degree angle and 32yards from line of sight, but show the guy actually being only 23 yards from the deer in the horizontial.

If you do the math, that means the guy is 22 yards above the deer. That 66ft. That rediculus. I mean you would have to be hunting on the edge of a cliff for that to be realistic.

If you have a good rangefinder it is not worth the expense to trade up.

If you don't have one and are buying new then sure get one with the Arc.

Why Not!!

Exactly!! Marketing on them is very skewed!

Adding to what was already said, there is a bit of FALSE-ADVERTISING put into them when the little picture showing a guy 20 YARDS up and an animal 30 YARDS away........ Who the hell hunts from 60 FEET (20 YARDS) up???? Now with that being said, if you don't have a rangefinder and you're looking to buy one, I'd buy one with ARC as it does have it's uses. For instance in FLAT Northwest Ohio, I killed a deer from 38.5 yds being about 45 FEET or 15yds above it, the adjusted ARC range would have been about 35yds. Don't sound like much, but there is more that plays into it shooting a bedded deer, and shooting that far DOWN that arrow don't loose near the velocity it will on a flat or uphill shot. The ARC wouldn't seem like it made that much difference, but on that bedded deer I still went through his spine and into his lungs, but it dsetroyed a little back-strap on it's trip. Still a fatal shot, just impacted a bit high. Had I not held for 35 yrds though, I may have just wounded it!!!
