Default tree stand question

so i just built a new hang on tree stand for archery season. (sry camera is not working or else i would show a pic.) and i dont know what to put on the back that will go against the tree. i was going to put 4" corner braces in the back to put against the tree but i asked my dad and he suggested putting tire tread on the back of it i was wandering does the tire tread work and which way would you do it.

thanks
Sutton

Tire tread sounds a bit dangerous. I'd want something to actually bite into the tree. Good luck and ahhh..wear a safety harness please.

Back when I was younger and didn't have much money, now I'm mucholder and still don't have any money, I used to build all my own treestands. I used to take door hinges andgrind the edges sharpand thenmount them on the back of the platform. They seemed to bite into the tree really well and could easily be resharpened when needed. But please wear a safty belt, even when asending and desending the tree. Hope this helps.

Blessings.....Pastorjim

Ive heard a lot of successes with what pastorjim said, I know people that would use chain saw chains. I would just as soon use transom ratchet straps like those you would put on a boat as long as you use 2 of them.
